CIA Summer Internship Programme is. Summer Internship Programme In USA. Officer or Operations Officer via the NCS Professional Trainee Program.
Clandestine Service The CIA's Clandestine Service protects the security interests of the United States by collecting intelligence around the world. Field agents are designated as either operations officers or collection management officers. Operations officers, also known as core collectors, are primarily responsible for cultivating sources of intelligence. For instance, an operations officer might discover that a contact has access to sensitive information about a terrorist organization or the military plans of a foreign nation. The operations officer would be responsible for persuading the contact to share this information, then reporting it to his supervisors at the CIA. CST Program Collection management officers oversee operations officers and keep them focused on the highest-priority intelligence concerns. They also seek out and recruit intelligence sources just like core collectors do, so there is some overlap between the two positions.
Clandestine Service
Both operations officers and collection management officers go through the National Clandestine Service's Clandestine Service Training program, or CST. Some also go through the Professional Trainee, or PT, program. Details of both programs are classified and not publicly available, but the CIA website emphasizes the need for strong interpersonal skills, “street smarts” and the ability to improvise under great stress. Requirements Minimum requirements to apply for CIA operations officer training include a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0. The CIA is most interested in applicants with degrees in international relations, finance or engineering, and skills in one of several languages, including Middle Eastern languages, such as Arabic, Persian, Kurdish and Turkish; Central Asian languages, such as Pashto; and Asian languages, such as Chinese, Korean and Indonesian. Applicants with some work experience in business or the military are often sent directly to CST training.

Younger applicants with limited work experience go through the PT program first. Applicants who complete the PT program are then given training assignments near headquarters, before being put through the regular 18-month CST course prior to assignment as an operations officer. Paramilitary Operations Officer Applicants with combat experience in the military, particularly in the Special Forces, may apply to serve as a paramilitary operations officer. CIA paramilitary operations officers go through the CST course just like regular operations officers, but beyond this the exact nature of their duties is unclear other than that the CIA describes them as both “hazardous” and “austere.” All applicants to the CST course must be drug-free for at least the previous year, and are expected to be as discreet as possible about their interest in the Clandestine Service.
